The tour's duration is approximately 30 minutes with an 8km route that passes adjacent to Mdina Main Gate and Casino Notabile, then into heart of Rabat in close proximity to St. Paul's Cathedral, the catacombs of St. Agatha and St. Paul's and thereon into Ghar Barka and the heart of Mtarfa viewing the Royal Navy Hospital and the Clock Tower.
The train at its highest point on the island, proceeds downhill from Mtarfa with panoramic views of Mosta and Mdina thereafter passing over the bridge close to the Old Railway Station and then up the steep hill next to Mdina's bastions through Greek Gate Tunnel and back to the terminus.
