The route for the trackless train tour will start and finish at a terminus in front of the Domus Romana in Museum Esplanade next to Howard Gardens. The train will proceed in the direction of Mdina Main Gate through Triq il-Muzew passing through Saqqajja Square into Triq Gorg Borg Olivier Street (Via Boschetto) in Rabat up to St. Dominic’s Priory into St. Pius V Street. The train then proceeds to Hal-Barka Housing Estate via Vjal il-Haddiem till the Nigret/Busugrilla Roundabout.

From this point the train continues through Triq Ghajn Qajjet into Mtarfa Road through the heart of Mtarfa village, then down Triq San David and into Triq il-Kavallier Vincenzo Bonello with panoramic views of Mosta and immediate surrounds. The train thereafter turns to the right into Triq il-Maltin Internati u Eziljati (Mtarfa Bypass) below Mdina proceeding to the left over the bridge in the vicinity of the Old Railway Station and up the steep hill in Triq Ghajn Hammem next to the Mdina Bastions. The train then travels through Greek Gate Tunnel up to the terminus adjacent to the Domus Romana.

The train tour is approximately eight (8) km long with a maximum travel speed of 25km/hr. The duration of the tour is between 25 and 30 minutes.
